Descendent is a limited-edition bronze sculpture by Taiwanese-American artist James Jean, produced in 2021. The piece depicts a figure suspended in mid-fall, a recurring motif in Jean’s work that reflects themes of transition, uncertainty, and transformation. Cast in bronze with a verdigris patina, the surface evokes the natural oxidation seen on aged metal, reinforcing the idea of time and change.
