Notes
Released in 2020 as part of Nike’s ISPA program (Improvise, Scavenge, Protect, Adapt), the Road Warrior explores hybrid footwear design by combining elements from multiple performance categories. The shoe features double-stacked Zoom Air units with Pebax plates, an open-heel structure derived from early Nike Shox concepts, and a knit upper secured by adjustable straps.
The split-toe forefoot references earlier Nike designs such as the Air Rift, while the overall construction blends ideas from running, basketball, and outdoor footwear. Priced at $500 at launch, the Road Warrior was positioned as an experimental, high-concept product within Nike’s lineup.
