The ROMBAUT x PUMA “Levitation” project marks Mats Rombaut’s first collaboration with the sportswear brand, introducing a futuristic footwear concept built around the idea of elevation, both physically and mentally. The design centers on a distinctive floating heel, giving the shoe its levitating appearance while reinforcing themes of progress and transformation.
Developed alongside a broader campaign, the project explores “Brainsport,” a concept linking physical movement with mental clarity and self improvement. Rather than focusing purely on performance, the collaboration positions footwear as a tool for reflection, encouraging wearers to consider ideas of growth, awareness, and rising above external noise.
The release also reflects Rombaut’s broader design approach, blending fashion, sustainability, and speculative forms, while extending his influence following his tenure as head of footwear at YEEZY.
